This month the ShellEye project has been presented at two large shellfish conferences; the Shellfsh Association of Great Britain's Annual Conference and the International Conference on Molluscan Shellfish Safety.

In March 2017 ShellEye invited a small group of stakeholder to Plymouth Marine Laboratory to discuss the progress of the project, requirements of the bulletin service and other issues facing the shellfish industry.

Understanding how environmental conditions can influence the marine biotoxin conditions within a mussel farm is one aspect of the ShellEye project. The team, based at the University of Exeter, have now developed and tested their first short-term forecasts for one shellfish farm in Cornwall, UK.
